Jesse Iwuji is a U.S. Navy officer, NASCAR driver, and entrepreneur whose career sits at the intersection of service, performance, and impact.
A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Jesse began his journey as a Division I football athlete before commissioning into the Navy, where he rose to the rank of Lieutenant Commander and continues to serve in the Navy Reserve. At the same time, he has carved out a path in professional motorsports—becoming the only U.S. Navy Officer competing at NASCAR’s national level.
On track, Jesse competes in NASCAR while co-owning Jesse Iwuji Motorsports alongside a group that includes Pro Football Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith. Off track, he leads multiple business ventures across motorsports, media, real estate, and contracting, using his platform to create opportunities and drive innovation.
Jesse’s story is defined by breaking barriers. As one of the few African American drivers competing at NASCAR’s national level, he has been recognized with NASCAR’s Diverse Driver of the Year honors and continues to advocate for greater access and representation in the sport.
